LaneKids Poster Contest Winners

The 2014 LaneKids Poster Contest was a great success! Thank you to everyone who participated by sending in a poster or by helping vote on the winners.

We got submissions from kids around the county and saw some great responses to the theme “My favorite Family activity is…” Some kids showed us that they really enjoy swimming at the lake or the beach with their parents, while others prefer playing games, cooking, or planting flowers as a family. No matter which activity they chose to display, kids in Lane County showed us that they love their parents, and that spending quality time together as a family is very important to them!

We received almost 50 entries to our contest this year, and it was tough for community members to select their favorites since there were so many fantastic works of art! The public was welcome to attend our Children’s Art Show event to view the submissions and vote on their 3 favorite posters. Our top 3 winners were then selected based on community votes, and we are now ready to announce our Winners!

And the Winners Are….

First Place – Arik from Marcola Elementary
Favorite Family Activity – Ducks games, bowling, science experiments, cooking, and roller blading!
Prize - $50 to Elephant’s Trunk Toy Store

Second Place – Andra from Marcola Elementary
Favorite Family Activity – Swimming and tubing at Triangle Lake!
Prize - $25 to Dancing Weasel Toy Store

Third Place – Saira from Fairfield Elementary
Favorite Family Activity – Celebrating holidays!
Prize - $25 to Putter’s Pizza and Fun Center
