Introducing Triple P: Positive Parenting Program
We’ve all seen it. You’re in line at the grocery store and someone’s child is having a meltdown right there in the aisle. The howls, the tears, the frazzled parent just trying to pick up food for dinner. We’ve all thought to ourselves “Whoa, glad that isn’t me!” Some of us add “At least not this time…”Public tantrums are practically a rite of passage for many parents. It’s exasperating, frustrating, and completely typical. If this has happened to you or to parents you know, then you also know that it’s a struggle to know how best to handle this situation.Fortunately, help is coming.
About Triple P in Lane County
This month brings the start of an exciting new parenting education program in Lane County - the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program, or Triple P. We’ll be publishing an original, weekly series of positive parenting articles created especially to help Lane County parents. Check back often to follow this series of articles filled with tips and tricks to help you be a more successful parent.In addition to these practical, skill-building articles, more resources for parents will also be made available through communities in Lane County. You may see posters and flyers at your school, in the office of your family healthcare provider and at many local social service agencies. Some healthcare providers will also provide tip sheets on effective parenting strategies and other additional parenting resources.
