Oregon is a little more on the orange side this season, as pumpkins pop up everywhere from grocery stores to road-side stands to neighborhood front porches. Although you can find great pumpkins outside of your nearest supermarket, the best way to get pumpkins with your family is picking them straight from the patch!Taking your family out to one of the local farms for a day of pumpkin picking, hay riding, and family bonding is a great way to get your pumpkin fix for the season while enjoying a fun, educational day outside together. We have put together a list of Lane County farms - where your family can go to get a fresh taste of farm life and welcome the fall season!

Bush’s Fern View Farms

Family Fun: October finds our farm busy with our u-pick pumpkin patch and children’s hay bale maze.

Family Fun: Every weekend of the month enjoy hayrides, Children’s hay maze, fresh apple cider, piles of pumpkins, and cow barrel rides, corn maze, hay maze, and an apple blaster where you can sling shot apples at targets!

Special Events: Apple Daze – Detering Orchards’ fall harvest celebration, every weekend in October!

Family Fun: Colonial Harvest Days Oct. 1 –Oct 31! Take a trip with Pilgrim Bob on a hayride to the pumpkin patch for a fun and educational ride, learn about sailing on the Mayflower in the life-size “Hayflower” ship, walk through the Harry Potter (mildly) Haunted Maze, sunflower labyrinth, and more!

Cost: $10 Adults (12+), $7.50 children (4-11), Ages 3 and under free.

Thistledown Farm

Family Fun: Lane County’s largest pumpkin patch! Tractor drawn hay wagon (weekdays) or horse drawn hay wagon (weekends) available to take your family to the patch, or feel free to walk down for no charge to pick your perfect pumpkin! Farm animals, kid’s corn maze and a hay maze are great for kids of all ages!

Cost: Wagon rides are $4 per person (age 1 and up)
