Early Childhood CARES

What This Organization Does

If you are concerned about your child’s development, Early Childhood CARES can help.

Early Childhood CARES provides free early intervention and early childhood special education services to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in Lane County.

Services are individualized to the unique needs of each child. Your child may receive support with communication, problem solving, motor skills, self care skills, and/or social skills.

Children may receive services and support from early intervention/early childhood special education providers, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, and/or occupational therapists.

Parents and guardians can refer their own child. Childcare providers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and others can also make a referral.

Pearl Buck Center

What This Organization Does

Pearl Buck Center supports you through playgroups, toddler learning programs, and home visits for families with young children of all abilities.

You can get guidance and practical help to build confidence, strengthen family relationships, and support your child’s growth.

Home visits and group programs help you learn new skills, connect with other parents and caregivers, and build a strong network of support.

Pearl Buck Center offers personalized support and inclusive programs that help you feel connected and confident as your child grows and learns.

The Arc of Lane County helps parents and caregivers who are raising a child with a disability. You can get family support, meet other families, learn new skills, and find help for your child. Programs also include preschool and learning programs for youth.

Families Connected / Familias y Conexión — No Eligibility Requirement
Families Connected is a parent-led program for families raising a child with a disability from birth to age 18. You can get one-on-one help from a trained parent who has raised a child with a disability. They can listen, answer questions, help you find services, and share what they have learned. Families can also join family events, learning groups, and other activities.

Community Connectors — Must Be DDS Services Eligible
Community Connectors gives one-on-one support to children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities. Each person is matched with a trained support worker. Support can help with daily life skills, build independence, and help people take part in activities at home and in the community. Staff work with each person and family to find support that fits their needs and goals.

The CARES Center — No Eligibility Requirement
The CARES Center provides food, clothes, toiletries, and household items to people with disabilities, families raising a child with a disability, and others who need help.

Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00–6:00 p.m.
Delivery: Available for people who have a disability or transportation barriers.
